Leimec’s innovative air handling units are cooling power plants all over the world
Leimec Oy designs and manufactures air handling units for gas and multi-fuel powered power plants that generate both electrical and thermal energy. These power plants are located in with very different weather conditions ranging from hot and humid to extremely cold.
– Our products serve our customers' needs regardless of what the customer's equipment is generating and where the energy generation takes place. We usually supply large amounts of air handling units, meaning that the total manufacturing time of our projects can last for months, says Leimec CEO Jukka Hakamaa.
A typical Leimec project is based on cost efficient standard air handling units with a project specific design. In addition to supplying standard products, Leimec also solves customers' specific air handling issues with creative solutions.
– We have an experienced team working together to develop ventilation solutions solving the challenges faced by our customers cost-efficiently and quickly, says Leimec Product Manager Aleksi Hyyriö.
Leimec has extensive experience in the development of ventilation solutions, which is reflected in short delivery times, competitive prices, and lightweight products. In addition to competitiveness, lighter products also mean more environmentally friendly transport to the installation site.
– We are always thinking about how to make our products and manufacturing process more sustainable. Optimizing the manufacturing process and products often means cost savings for us and for our customers, and the result is also a more sustainable product.
Standardized products have a short delivery time
When working with Leimec, customers can be sure that they are getting an excellent product that is quick and easy to install. Because of the standardized manufacturing process, it is easier for the company to predict their material and component needs.
– Because we manufacture our products and main parts of the components in-house, we can control the process and meet short delivery schedules. Our development efforts have made it possible to replace welded steel frames with sheet metal parts, which we keep at the factory. This means that we are also able to start the manufacturing process faster and shorten the delivery time, says Hakamaa.
– Our products are reliable because our manufacturing process has been optimized. An important factor here is our committed and skilled staff, who are genuinely willing to improve and to develop our products. Our products have been designed to make them easy and safe to install and maintain. We also have a comprehensive selection of spare parts in the factory. This brings down the total costs of our products, says Hyyriö.
2022 was a year of breaking records
Leimec broke both production and financial records in 2022, while the turnover for the Leinolat Group exceeded 40 million euros.
– We punch well above our weight, and we could not have responded to the demand without the flexibility of our staff last year. Together with our motivated employees, we have improved our processes. In addition, we have also invested in robots and automation, which increased our production capacity, says Hakamaa.
