Leinolat Group at Technology Tuesday: Career Fair Brings Future Experts and Potential Employers Together

Leinolat Group participated in the national Technology Tuesday event. Technology Tuesday, arranged by vocational schools and technology companies, is an annual event intended to function as a bridge between future technology experts and potential employers. Leinolat Group participated in the event's career fair, organized at vocational school Vamia's Sampo Campus. At the group's stand, students were welcomed by HR Coordinator Tia Ala-Kauhaluoma, Leinolat Group CEO Lars-Erik Schöring and Uwira – part of Leinolat Group – CEO Arto Aro.

"This was the first time we participated in Technology Tuesday and I can already say that you will definitely see us there again next year. We made a lot of great connections and met plenty of students we wish to hear from when it is time to apply for training positions and summer jobs", Ala-Kauhaluoma enthuses.

At the career fair, companies also had the chance to meet with 9th-graders as well as students in Vamia and Vaasa University of Applied Sciences' joint Huippuinsinööri program. Students from international programs also participated in the event, meaning that the representation of students was comprehensive.

"We introduced students to Leinolat Group's companies and to the opportunities we have to offer. The large spectrum of opportunities surprised many students: they were intrigued by, for instance, the fact that there are currently as many as 50 welders at Uwira. We were also able to provide students with tips and guidance regarding the drafting and submitting of applications. Thanks to the event's well-organized schedule, we had time for genuine conversations with the youth

A Career as a Welder or a Machinist Is Worth Pursuing

Maintaining collaboration with educational institutions is important for Leinolat Group, as schools like Vamia play a key role in shaping the future workforce for the industrial and technology sectors in the Ostrobothnia region. Leinolat Group companies are continuously recruiting, particularly welders and machinists, whose contributions are an essential part of the companies' daily operations. Approximately 85% of the production from Leinolat Group's companies is exported, which means working at Leinolat Group provides opportunities to participate in interesting, large-scale international projects.

"At events like this, we have the opportunity to clearly convey to both current and future students that it's truly worthwhile to study to become a welder or machinist. There are plenty of excellent job opportunities in our region for these fields. Our operations rely on the expertise of these professionals, and we are actively recruiting for these roles," says Ala-Kauhaluoma, expressing appreciation for Vamia's well-organized event.

"The event was clearly designed with students in mind, providing them with a low-threshold way to explore companies. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and interest. At our stand, we also included a bit of fun with a Leinolat Group-themed trivia quiz, where the grand prize was a Bobi mailbox. The lucky winner will get to receive their mail in a mailbox by Bobi.com, part of the Leinolat Group, manufactured by Leimec, another company within the group," Ala-Kauhaluoma concludes.

Leinolat Group is a group of six companies offering a diverse range of metal industry services. Its companies include Uwira, specializing in pipes and piping modules; Leimec, focusing on ventilation solutions; Kilkanen, dedicated to precision machining; T-DRILL, a manufacturer of specialized machines and equipment for pipe processing; and Bobi.com, renowned for its iconic mailboxes. The parent company, Oy Leinolat Ab, manages the group's finance, joint marketing, communication, IT, and quality. Leinolat Group also holds a minority share in Adiabatix, a company specializing in insulation solutions.
